People Operations

Network RightSan Francisco, CA
$90,000 - $105,000Hybrid

About The Position

Network Right is seeking its first dedicated People Operations hire to support its growing team. This role is a hybrid position, focusing approximately equally on People Operations for the entire company and office support for the San Francisco HQ. The individual will be the primary point of contact for employees regarding People-related matters, handling sensitive information with discretion, improving processes, and developing documentation. The role involves managing the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, administering HR policies and benefits, overseeing compliance processes like background checks and I-9 verification, and collaborating with external vendors and internal leadership. Additionally, the role includes maintaining the San Francisco office, supporting candidate interviews, and assisting with company events. This is an opportunity to significantly shape the People Operations function and workplace culture at a rapidly scaling tech startup.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in People Ops, HR coordination, or a related role, ideally at a tech startup in the 30 to 100 person range.
  • Proven track record owning onboarding and offboarding processes end to end.
  • Familiarity working within a PEO model and optimizing the system for onboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience managing background checks, I-9, and E-Verify workflows.
  • Background supporting and coordinating performance management cycles in partnership with leadership.
  • Comfortable working in ticketing systems to manage employee requests and track workflows.
  • Proficient in Google Suite with a habit of creating and maintaining clear internal process documentation.
  • Experience using AI tools to streamline communications, draft documentation, and improve workflows.
  • High degree of discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building HR processes and documentation from scratch, not just executing an existing playbook.
  • Familiarity with the tools listed above, but we care more that you're a fast learner who is comfortable picking up new platforms quickly.
  • Exposure to office management, workplace coordination, or event planning.
  • Genuine interest in growing a career in People Ops alongside a scaling team.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions on HR topics, benefits, and policies.
  • Manage the background check process end to end, proactively following up on flags and ensuring all new hire records are cleared and current.
  • Own I-9 and E-Verify workflows for all new hires, staying on top of federal compliance requirements and timelines.
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact with the PEO, the external compliance vendor, ensuring workflows stay aligned with labor regulations.
  • Lead the evaluation of the current payroll and HR platform, provide recommendations on whether to renew or migrate to a better-fit solution.
  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve SOPs and process documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate People Ops workflows.
  • Partner cross-functionally with the co-founders and department leaders to support employee lifecycle events and keep data accurate across all systems.
  • Champion culture and employee experience, designing intentional touchpoints that keep the team connected as we grow.
  • Maintain a consistent in-office presence in SF to keep the workspace running smoothly, including managing supplies, coordinating vendors, and ensuring the office is set up for the team to do their best work.
