About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and energetic People Operations Associate who is excited to meaningfully contribute to a rapidly growing company and People Operations team. Reporting to the Director of People Operations, you will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks and projects in partnership with the entire People Team as well as our cross-functional stakeholders. The ideal candidate is an all-around utility team player who is enthusiastic, has excellent communication and project management skills, thrives under pressure and deadlines, and wants to work, support and thrive in this important position. This is a hybrid position with a requirement of 3 full days in our Omaha, Nebraska office. The People Operations Associate plays a pivotal role in supporting the Human Resources or People Operations team, focused on enhancing the overall employee experience. This position serves as a primary HR contact for all offices and remote employees and is instrumental in various HR functions ranging from recruitment to compliance. The People Operations Associate will assist in running the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field OR relevant related experience required.
  • Proven experience in Human Resources.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws, including: California, Nebraska, multi-state regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience processing end-to-end multi-state payroll in ADP, ensuring accuracy, tax compliance, and proper benefit deductions. (ADP Payroll & ADP SmartCompliance)
  • Highly organized multi-tasker with strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills, who operates with exceptional attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Proficient with Google Suite, Slack or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in a People Operations or similar environment preferred.
  • Experience with Greenhouse Onboarding preferred to streamline new hire paperwork, provisioning, and orientation workflows.
  • Experience owning the end-to-end performance review cycle process, with hands-on experience using Lattice (or comparable 360 review software) to set up, track, and execute feedback rounds.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct or acquire background checks and verify employee eligibility.
  • Implement and conduct new hire orientation programs and oversee employee recognition initiatives.
  • Maintain meticulous records, including the employee directory, organizational charts, and all employee records.
  • Execute routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
  • Receive employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors across all offices, escalating complex and/or sensitive matters to the Director of People Operations.
  • Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Review and maintain HR policies and practices to keep up with recommended best practices.
  • Stay informed on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Assist within Onboarding trainings for new employees and contractors.
  • Responsible for occasionally managing and executing payroll processing and ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees. This role requires an understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compensation structures - particularly in California, Nebraska, and multi-state region for some remote employees and consultants.
