About The Position

The PEO State Unemployment Hearing Specialist I guides clients through the unemployment hearing process and represents them in hearings. The specialist prepares clients, gathers relevant information, represents their interests during hearings, researches escalated issues, and analyzes annual tax rate notices. The role also supports team development by mentoring and training SUI Client Maintenance Specialists and SUI Claim Specialists, and contributes to projects and departmental initiatives aimed at improving processes and efficiencies.

Requirements

High school diploma required.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare clients for unemployment hearings so they understand the process and all appropriate information has been gathered.
Represent clients in unemployment hearings to ensure they are effectively represented and claims are adjudicated in their best interests.
Research and analyze escalated issues to promote customer service and ensure information accuracy.
Mentor and train SUI Client Maintenance Specialists and SUI Claim Specialists on daily tasks, responsibilities, departmental processes, and unemployment insurance regulations.
Analyze clients’ annual tax rate notices to verify accuracy and appropriateness of the tax rate.
Participate in projects and departmental initiatives, identifying and addressing training, documentation, and system enhancement needs to improve processes and efficiencies.
