Requirements

  • One to two years of experience in a business, financial, administrative, or customer-focused environment.
  • An interest in working with numbers, calculations, and financial concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to learn and apply policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • A certificate or diploma in business, finance, or a related field would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of pension plans, benefits administration, or pension legislation is considered an asset.
  • Enrollment in the Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC) program is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Process pension benefit requests, including performing calculations and completing quality assurance reviews.
  • Verify benefit transactions and workflows to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Execute and monitor scheduled and ad hoc batch processes while maintaining data integrity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across APS to gather information and resolve member requests.
  • Communicate with members, pensioners, employers, and financial institutions as needed.
  • Maintain and update member, pensioner, and corporate records with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Review incoming and outgoing correspondence, identifying and resolving inconsistencies or anomalies.
  • Use Microsoft Office and pension administration systems to validate information and support operational processes.
  • Contribute to a team that values accuracy, continuous improvement, and exceptional service.
