About The Position
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pediatrician to provide locum tenens coverage for our inpatient service in Durant, OK. This is a call-only position, requiring 24-hour coverage with a 1:3 call ratio and a 30-minute response time. The role involves managing acute neonatal and pediatric conditions, performing necessary procedures, and collaborating with a supportive staff. The coverage period is ongoing from August 1, 2026, with specific dates available in August 2026.
Requirements
- Board Eligible (BE) required
- Licensed in OK
- BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, ABLS certifications
- Fellowship required
- Non-Invasive Ventilation Management (neo-puff)
- Ventilation Management (Newborn)
- Acute Intubation (ETT/NT)
- Newborn UVC
- UAC
- Needle pneumothorax
- Decompression
Nice To Haves
- Chest tube insertion
- Suturing minor lacerations
- Circumcision (type)
Responsibilities
- Provide on-call coverage for pediatric inpatients, responding to calls within 30 minutes
- Assess and manage acute neonatal and pediatric conditions, including intubation, ventilation, and decompression procedures
- Perform newborn evaluations, UVC/UAC placement, and circumcisions as clinically indicated
- Coordinate with nursing and office staff to ensure timely patient care and documentation
- Maintain accurate records in Cerner and Athena EMR systems
