About The Position

First Steps Nursing and Therapy is seeking a compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide one-on-one care to a 5-year-old pediatric patient in the home setting in New Braunfels, Texas. The patient has a tracheostomy, ventilator, and G-tube and is non-ambulatory. The listed case schedule is Saturday–Sunday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities are available. A case bonus may be available; ask for details. The role includes required in-office and on-site training and accurate documentation in Kantime.

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered Texas RN or LVN license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform required physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and transfers.
• Willingness to complete required in-office and on-site training.

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric or high-acuity experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on nursing care to the assigned patient.
• Assess the patient’s condition and document observations.
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies.
• Provide and manage G-tube, ventilator, and tracheostomy care.
• Monitor vital signs and perform ongoing nursing assessments.
• Communicate changes in the patient’s condition to the nursing supervisor and/or physician.
• Educate and support family members and caregivers.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in Kantime.
