About The Position

First Steps Nursing and Therapy is seeking a compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide one-on-one nursing care for a 12-year-old pediatric patient in a home setting in Shavano Park, Texas. The patient is ambulatory and has G-tube and ventilator care needs. Full-time, part-time, and PRN scheduling opportunities are available. The listed schedule includes Sunday 6:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. and Friday–Sunday 6:30 p.m.–6:30 a.m.

The nurse will deliver direct care, monitor and document the patient’s condition, provide prescribed treatments, and support the patient’s family and caregivers. Required in-office and on-site training must be completed. Pediatric or high-acuity experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered Texas RN or LVN license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to perform required physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and transfers.
• Willingness to complete required in-office and on-site training.

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric or high-acuity experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, hands-on nursing care to the assigned patient.
• Assess the patient’s condition and document observations.
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies.
• Provide and manage G-tube, ventilator, and tracheostomy care.
• Monitor vital signs and perform ongoing nursing assessments.
• Communicate changes in condition to the nursing supervisor and/or physician.
• Educate and support family members and caregivers.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in Kantime.
