About The Position

Children’s Mercy (CM) Kansas City, in partnership with Mercy Health Springfield, is seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Ophthalmologist to serve their pediatric population at their multispecialty practice in Springfield, Missouri. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population drawing from the third largest city in Missouri. The position provides full access to Children’s Mercy colleagues in Kansas City for professional discussions, consultation, and collaboration. The health system is an independent, non-profit, 390-bed pediatric health system providing over half a million patient encounters each year for children from across the country. It is ranked by U.S. News & World Report in nine specialties and has received Magnet® recognition five times for excellence in nursing services. In affiliation with the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the University of Kansas, their faculty of nearly 800 pediatric specialists and researchers are actively involved in clinical care, pediatric research, and educating the next generation of pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists. Requirements

  • BC/BE Fellowship Trained Pediatric Ophthalmologist
  • Other Medical Degree (MD)
  • Residency/Fellowship
  • CMH Hospital Priveleges Required
  • State Medical License Required
  • BNDD and DEA Certificates Required
  • BE/BC Required
  • Willingness to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with fellow employees, patients, parents and visitors.
