About The Position

This is an outpatient coverage position for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). The role involves providing comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, developing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and managing chronic conditions. The provider will also offer patient education and counseling, perform procedures as permitted, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers. Accurate and thorough documentation of patient care is essential. The position is for an initial 3-month contract with the potential to extend, filling a temporary need while a long-term permanent search is conducted. The average patient load is 22 patients per day (PPD).

Requirements

  • Active Georgia licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS certification
  • Minimum 1-year Pediatric experience or equivalent
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Georgia OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Georgia
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
