The role also involves ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, communicating procedure details to patients, and arranging consultations or referrals. Patient education on health habits, self-examinations, behavior management, follow-up care, home medical care, and medication is a key component. The position also requires participation in professional development, attending educational in-services, maintaining accurate patient records, collecting and interpreting diagnostic data, preparing statistical reports, and training other healthcare professionals. Active participation in organizational health services committees is also expected.
