About The Position

Atrium Health, a leading community-focused academic healthcare system, is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs) for a full-time position in Pediatric Nephrology. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient settings, with occasional weekend coverage. The position is part of a dynamic team of providers, including 8 MDs and 3 APPs, and offers an average daily patient load of 10-20. Requirements

  • Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
  • Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of practice.
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
  • Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions.
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required.
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required.
  • Physician Assistant: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required.
  • Two or more years of experience in pediatrics preferred (acute care experience desired).
  • Physician Assistant: Master's degree preferred.
  • Physician Assistant: Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
  • Experience in Pediatric Infectious Disease/Immunology preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Current PALS and ATLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Participate in occasional weekend coverage.
  • Manage an average daily patient load of 10-20 patients.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team of providers including MDs and APPs.
