About The Position

The Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Program at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC is looking for a Pediatric Advanced Care Practitioner to join their Cellular Therapies (CT)/Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) APP team. This APP will function within a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive care for children and young adults undergoing, or who have received, a bone marrow or stem cell transplant and/or immune effector cell therapy. Collaboratively manage patients under the general supervision of the attending physician, on a fast-paced pediatric stem cell transplant service. Shared coverage responsibilities between in and out patient. Lead family centered multidisciplinary rounds, provides bedside care, and manages admissions and discharges to the inpatient BMT unit. Provides continuity of care for patients and families in the outpatient BMT clinic. Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures with instillation of intrathecal chemotherapy and bone marrow aspirates and biopsies. Provides coverage on a rotating basis in our infusion suite. Participate in quality improvement and committees. Follow evidence based practice/SOPs/FACT requirements. Provider group of 4 physicians, and 3 advanced practice providers.

Requirements

  • Physician's Assistants and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (must be acute care certified)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an advanced practice provider preferred, but not required
  • Bone Marrow Transplant or Heme Onc experience is preferred, but not required
