About The Position

This is a Locum Tenens position for a Pediatric Hospitalist in Potsdam, NY. The role involves providing clinical coverage and being on call for hospital inpatient services. The coverage period is from January 4, 2027, to April 5, 2027. The position requires managing neonates in the Newborn Nursery and high-risk deliveries, as well as pediatric inpatients. Responsibilities include conducting ER consults, managing the pediatric inpatient unit, and stabilizing critically ill newborns for transport. The physician will perform 24-hour call shifts, requiring a 20-minute response time to the hospital.

Requirements

• Active NY State License
• Board Certified Pediatrician
• NRP certification
• PALS certification
• BLS (AHA or RQI) certification
• Epic Experience Required
• Ability to return to the hospital within 20 minutes during call shifts

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for Newborn Nursery, including attending high-risk deliveries and stabilizing newborns.
• Conduct emergency room consults for pediatric patients.
• Manage the Pediatric inpatient unit, overseeing patient care and treatment plans.
• Resuscitate and stabilize critically ill newborns pending transport to a higher-level NICU.
• Perform 24-hour call shifts, remaining accessible and able to return to the hospital within 20 minutes.
