About The Position

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks candidates for the position(s) of Assistant/Associate/Professor-Pediatric Hospitalist in the Department of Pediatrics. The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is a regional campus of one of the largest public medical schools in the United States, known for its small class sizes and exceptional faculty mentorship. UICOMP students excel under a rigorous curriculum. In collaboration with its hospitals and clinical partners, UICOMP Faculty members provide care to over 45,000 patients annually and contribute to medical education and training for more than 260 students and over 300 physician residents and fellows each year. UICOMP's healthcare partners include Jump Simulation, OSF Saint Medical Center, OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois, and Carle Hearth Greater Peoria. UICOMP is also part of an R1 research institute with translational research focusing on Alzheimer dementia and oncology. Requirements

MD/DO degree
Eligible for licensure in Illinois.
Board certified in Pediatrics
3 years pediatric residency

Responsibilities

Provide academic inpatient hospitalist services for patients at UICOMP’s main clinical partner, OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois, a 132-bed, full-service hospital.
Participate in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs of the Department.
Organize and conduct research or scholarly programs in pediatric hospital medicine.
Perform other duties of a University faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
