Children's Mercy is seeking a full-time Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) board-certified/board-eligible pediatric hospitalist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a passion for academic medicine. This role involves active participation in clinical duties, educational programs, and quality improvement initiatives within the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Essential skills for this position include professionalism, proficiency in team-based care, expertise in managing children with medical complexity, and effective communication. The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is a large, supportive group of over 45 physicians and 6 fellows, with many members holding leadership positions across the institution in areas such as medical education, administration, quality and safety, and informatics. The division is committed to supporting individual professional growth and team member well-being. Clinical practice will primarily take place at our tertiary care facility, with opportunities also available at our community site. Children's Mercy Hospital is a leading urban freestanding children's hospital offering comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical services. Faculty provide direct care on a 24/7 hospitalist team for medically complex and general pediatric patients, often with fellows, residents, and students. Attending supervision of teaching teams is also a key responsibility, exclusively for PHM board-certified/board-eligible hospitalists. Children's Mercy Kansas is a distinct freestanding community children's hospital offering a complementary clinical experience with a lower acuity patient population. This site provides direct interaction with pediatric professionals in a busy emergency department and referral area. Salary and academic rank will be determined based on the candidate's experience.
