About The Position

As a Pediatric Hospitalist, you are responsible for providing direct patient care to a wide variety of inpatients at the hospital, supervision of advanced practice providers (APRNs/PAs), education of PGY-3 pediatric residents, and participating in organizational citizenship within the hospital. All Hospitalists perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and core values of excellence, integrity, compassion, service and stewardship.

Requirements

• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency training program in pediatrics.
• M.D. or D.O. or board eligible or board certified (preferred) in pediatrics or pediatric hospital medicine.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a pediatric hospitalist fellowship is preferred, but not required.
• 2 years of post-graduate pediatric hospital medicine experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provision of direct care to the wide variety of inpatients at Bethany Children’s Health Center
• Direct involvement in reviewing and evaluating patient referrals
• Admissions
• Daily care (acute and chronic care)
• Call responsibilities
• Supervision of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs)
• Co-management of patients in Complex Care (CC)
• Education
• Consultative services in Pediatric Medical Rehab Unit (PMRU)
• Education of PGY-3 pediatric residents
• Direct supervision of clinical activities
• One-on-one teaching
• Career mentoring
• Participate in at least one hospital-based committee
• Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) endeavors
• Actively participate in Medical Staff activities
• Educational offerings for staff
• Other duties as assigned
