About The Position

We are seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist for a Locum Tenens position in Henderson, NC. This is an inpatient role requiring call-only coverage from December 1, 2026, ongoing. The call schedule is 24-hour beeper call with a 1:1 ratio and a 20-minute response time. This coverage is supplemental. The average daily patient volume is 2-5, with 3-8 admissions. Rounding is required for both. Phone consults average 5 per day. The facility uses the Paragon EMR system and has a support staff of 3 RNs and 1 MA. While hospital privileges are not initially required, temporary privileges are available.

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
Possess a North Carolina license or IMLC.
Current BLS certification.
Current ACLS certification.
Current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

Provide 24-hour call coverage for Pediatric Hospitalist services.
Manage an average daily patient volume of 2-5.
Handle admissions ranging from 3-8 per day.
Perform rounding for both patients and newborns.
Respond to phone consults.
Perform required procedures including Vent Management, Intubation (Newborn, Pediatrics), Conscious sedation, C-Lines, A-Lines, PA Catheter, Lumbar puncture, Chest tube insertion, Needle pneumothorax, Decompression, X-ray interpretation, EKG interpretation, Exchange transfusion, Suturing minor lacerations, Circumcision, Swallow studies, and Newborn Examination.
