About The Position

Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND is seeking a full-time Pediatric Hospitalist to join their growing pediatric inpatient services. This is a well-established and respected practice that currently includes 3 physicians and 3 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The scheduling model involves consecutive blocks with 24-hour shifts, and APPs work alongside physicians for dyad coverage. Hospitalists are not responsible for ICU, Peds ICU, or NICU coverage. The average pediatric census is 2 to 3 patients per day, and daily newborn rounding coverage is also provided. Circumcisions are a preferred/required procedure, with other procedures dependent on experience. Leadership opportunities are available.

Requirements

• Board Eligible or Board Certified Pediatrician.
• Pediatric candidates only.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with circumcisions.
• Experience with other procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric hospitalist services.
• Manage an average daily census of 2 to 3 patients.
• Perform circumcisions and other procedures as needed.
• Provide daily newborn rounding coverage.
• Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers for dyad coverage.
• Participate in 24-hour shifts within consecutive blocks.
