About The Position

Axcess is hiring a Home Care LPN to provide care to an 8-year-old female client in the Fort Mill area. The child has a traumatic brain injury and seizure disorder, is non-verbal, uses a G-tube for fluids, eats by mouth, and needs assistance with all activities of daily living. The schedule is three to four days per week, with flexible hours.

Axcess provides home care to children with special needs and disabilities across South Carolina. The role involves providing compassionate nursing care to the child and supporting the child’s parents or guardians. Depending on the child’s needs, care may include medication administration, catheter care, tracheostomy care, wound care, ventilator care, assistance with ADLs, and accompanying parents to appointments and therapies. The LPN may also assist with light housekeeping and laundry.

Requirements

• Active LPN license to practice in South Carolina.
• One year of clinical experience.
• Annual TB testing; Axcess covers the cost if the test is expired.
• Current CPR certification; Axcess can direct candidates to training sites if certification is expired.
• Pass a SLED background check.
• Pass a drug test.
• Be physically able to provide care to a child with special needs.
• Valid driver’s license and insured transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to a child with special needs.
• Assist the client with activities of daily living.
• Administer medication as needed.
• Provide catheter, tracheostomy, wound, or ventilator care as needed.
• Accompany parents to appointments and therapies as needed.
• Assist with light housekeeping and laundry as needed.
