About The Position

Axcess is hiring a Home Care LPN to provide care to a 1-year-old female client in Summerville, South Carolina. The child needs assistance with all activities of daily living (ADLs), G-tube feedings, and incontinence care. She can crawl, is close to walking, and is minimally verbal.

The role provides compassionate nursing care to a child with special needs while supporting the child’s parents or guardians. Care needs vary and may include medication administration, catheter care, tracheostomy care, wound care, ventilator care, assistance with ADLs, and accompanying parents to appointments and therapies. The LPN may also assist with light housekeeping and laundry.

The scheduled days and hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Axcess provides home care services to children with special needs and disabilities across South Carolina and works with Community Long Term Care and the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs.

Requirements

• Hold an active LPN license to practice in South Carolina.
• Have one year of clinical experience.
• Maintain annual TB testing; Axcess covers the cost if the test is expired.
• Have current CPR certification; Axcess can direct candidates to training sites if certification is expired.
• Pass a background (SLED) check.
• Pass a drug test.
• Be physically able to provide care to a child with special needs.
• Have a valid driver’s license and insured transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to a child with special needs in the home.
• Assist the child with all activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Provide G-tube feedings and incontinence care.
• Provide other care as needed, which may include medication administration, catheter care, tracheostomy care, wound care, and ventilator care.
• Accompany parents to appointments and therapies when needed.
• Assist with light housekeeping and laundry when required.
• Support the child’s parents or guardians during visits.
