About The Position

Axcess is hiring a Home Care LPN to provide care for a 1-year-old female client in the Summerville, South Carolina area. The client needs assistance with all activities of daily living, G-tube feedings, and incontinence care. She can crawl, is close to walking, and is minimally verbal. The schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Axcess provides home care services to children with special needs and disabilities across South Carolina, through contracts with Community Long Term Care and the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. Care is intended to support both the child and their parents or guardians. Depending on the child's needs, care may include medication administration, catheter care, tracheostomy care, wound care, ventilator care, assistance with activities of daily living, and accompanying parents to appointments and therapies. The LPN may also assist with light housekeeping and laundry.

Requirements

• Hold an active LPN license to practice in South Carolina.
• Have one year of clinical experience.
• Have a current annual TB test; Axcess covers the cost if the test is expired.
• Have current CPR certification; Axcess can direct applicants to training sites if certification is expired.
• Pass a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) background check.
• Pass a drug test.
• Be physically able to provide care to a child with special needs.
• Have a valid driver's license and insured transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to a child with special needs in the client's home.
• Assist with all activities of daily living.
• Provide G-tube feedings and incontinence care.
• Provide other nursing care as needed, which may include medication administration, catheter care, tracheostomy care, wound care, and ventilator care.
• Accompany parents to appointments and therapies, as needed.
• Assist with light housekeeping and laundry, as needed.
