About The Position

The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University seeks a board-eligible or board-certified pediatric cardiologist to join the Division as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor in the Clinician Educator Line. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The successful applicant should have an MD, DO, MBBS degree or equivalent. Candidates should have clinical training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. They should have completed fellowship and be board eligible or certified in Pediatric Cardiology. Additionally, they should have completed a year of advanced training in pediatric electrophysiology. The candidate should be comfortable with the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias and inherited arrhythmia syndromes. Additionally, the candidate should have knowledge and training to perform invasive electrophysiology studies and ablations, as well as implant and interrogate cardiac devices. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate sustained excellence in academic productivity. The Electrophysiology Program at Stanford Children’s Health has 6 faculty members who together to run the inpatient, outpatient, and procedural EP services. The group will perform about 320 EP studies, ablations, and implantable cardiac devices at Stanford and outreach sites this academic year. The EP team has a robust outpatient EP practice on the Stanford campus (Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital) and at affiliated outreach clinical sites in the Bay Area. The group overseas a team of advanced practice providers, and has a busy inpatient consultation service. Training categorical fellows in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology is an important core mission, and faculty members also provide advanced clinical and research training to advanced electrophysiology fellows. All faculty are actively engaged in clinical research and/or curriculum development.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, MBBS degree or equivalent
  • Clinical training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology
