This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of a comprehensive congenital heart program that provides advanced, multidisciplinary care to infants, children, adolescents, and adults with congenital heart disease throughout the Greater Washington region. The Heart Center at Inova L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital has provided exceptional pediatric cardiac care to Northern Virginia and the Greater Washington region for more than 30 years. The program performs approximately 550 cardiac procedures annually, including surgical repair of the most complex congenital heart defects, such as hypoplastic left heart syndrome. The Heart Center offers a seamless continuum of care from infancy through adulthood, including a dedicated Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program. The comprehensive team provides expertise across the full spectrum of congenital and pediatric heart care, including congenital cardiac surgery, outpatient and fetal cardiology, noninvasive imaging, adult congenital cardiology, diagnostic and interventional catheterization, electrophysiology, and advanced heart failure therapies. The EP team follows nearly 400 children with pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), as well as approximately 250 patients enrolled in our dedicated channelopathy program. The program performs 180–200 procedures annually, including electrophysiology studies, catheter ablations, and device implantations. They utilize the latest advances in cardiac rhythm management, including conduction system pacing, leadless pacemakers, and subcutaneous ICD (S-ICD) systems. All EP procedures are conducted in a state-of-the-art biplane electrophysiology laboratory equipped with both CARTO™ and EnSite™ three-dimensional mapping systems. These procedures are supported by a highly skilled and collaborative pediatric EP team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. A dedicated advanced practice provider specializing in pediatric electrophysiology oversees remote device monitoring and assists with Holter monitor interpretation. The program is further strengthened by three dedicated pediatric cardiovascular genetic counselors who support the comprehensive channelopathy clinic. The cardiogenetics clinic is the largest of its kind in Northern Virginia and provides evaluation and management for children with inherited arrhythmia and cardiomyopathy syndromes, including long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC).
