About The Position

Virginia Family Dentistry is seeking a Pediatric Dental Assistant to join their team at the Huguenot Specialty Center. This role involves providing chairside assistance, managing patient appointments, ensuring infection control, and collaborating with the dental and administrative staff. The position is non-exempt and hourly, with a pay range of $17-$25/hour based on experience. Typical work hours are 8 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Knowledge of dental procedures
X-ray certification
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and State Board requirements
Willingness to work as part of a larger team
Effective communication with doctors, employees, and patients
BLS certification

Nice To Haves

1 year or more of pediatric dental experience
Completion of a dental assisting program

Responsibilities

Provide chairside assistance to the dentists
Take x-rays
Stock, organize, and disinfect operatories
Ensure instrument sterilization and proper infection control protocol
Review the doctor’s schedule daily, set up and prepare for patient appointments with needed supplies, lab cases, implants and other necessary items
Input treatment plan given by the doctor
Keep the schedule on time and communicate with the front desk
Maintain a lab tracking system to ensure all lab work is ready for the patients’ appointment
Ordering and unpacking supplies
Collaborate with the doctor scheduler on schedules and maintaining the unscheduled list by following up with the patients and needed treatment
Help the administrative staff as needed
