PEACE Program Assistant (CSLP FWS)

Grand Canyon UniversityPhoenix, AZ

About The Position

Grand Canyon University (GCU) partners with nonprofit organizations that are recognized by the IRS as 501(c)(3) to support their charitable programs. These organizations aim to enhance the quality of life for community residents or address specific community needs. GCU has a partnership with Rehoboth CDC, located at 2650 W. Hazelwood Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85017. Rehoboth CDC's mission is to improve the lives of low- to moderate-income families in Phoenix and the Canyon Corridor neighborhoods. The work schedule for CSLP student workers is determined by Rehoboth CDC's operating hours and needs, with a maximum of 20 hours per week during the academic year (fall/spring). This position is classified as Community Service under 34 CFR 675.2(b), meaning it provides services to improve the quality of life for community residents, especially low-income individuals, or to solve problems related to their needs. These services must be publicly accessible. As an FWS-CSLP approved position, services are offered to non-GCU community members. All FWS and FWS-CSLP positions require applicants to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to determine FWS eligibility and award. The People Educating and Centering Efforts (PEACE) Youth Enrichment Program works with Maricopa County partners to involve K-12 youth in out-of-school activities and education within Canyon Corridor neighborhoods.
