About The Position

The PCB Design & Layout Engineer will work on-site at the Dallas R&D Lab, creating and updating RF and mixed-signal PCB layouts for Power Amplifier (PA) boards. The role works closely with PA design and verification teams and addresses schematic, mechanical, thermal, and RF needs. It includes defining PCB stack-ups, coordinating engineering queries with the PCB supplier, applying SI, PI, and EMI/EMC-aware practices, preparing manufacturing data, and supporting prototype bring-up and design changes.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in RF and mixed-signal PCB layout.
  • Knowledge of high-power RF / PA board layout.
  • Strong knowledge of stack-up, controlled impedance, grounding, and shielding.
  • Good understanding of SI, PI, and EMI/EMC basics.
  • Understanding of thermal considerations in PCB design.
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition Enterprise.
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFX and manufacturing database preparation.
  • Ability to run design reviews and work with suppliers.
  • Good documentation and teamwork skills.
  • 5–8 years of experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update RF and mixed-signal PCB layouts for Power Amplifier boards based on schematic, mechanical, thermal, and RF requirements.
  • Define PCB stack-ups and work with the PCB supplier on engineering queries (EQ).
  • Plan controlled impedance, RF routing, grounding, shielding, and isolation.
  • Apply Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), and EMI/EMC-aware design practices.
  • Complete component placement and design-rule checks (DRC).
  • Lead layout design reviews and resolve layout issues.
  • Prepare manufacturing data with DFM/DFX in mind.
  • Support prototype bring-up and handle design changes.
