About The Position

Lunar Energy is seeking a motivated PCB layout designer to create next-generation circuit boards for its products, including home energy storage systems. The position is responsible for complete board layouts and creating library parts for new components. The role works with a dedicated, cross-functional team to develop innovative products from concept through high-volume production. Engineers at Lunar work hands-on with simulation and physical hardware.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant circuit board design experience.
• Proficiency in Altium Designer.
• Experience with power supply and switching regulator layout.
• Solid knowledge of PCB materials and developing board stack-ups to meet design requirements.
• Knowledge of IPC specifications and design for manufacturability for fabrication and assembly.
• Excellent communication skills, strong initiative, and ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Willingness to learn and grow with technology.

Responsibilities

• Design and lay out circuit boards using through-hole, SMT, and mixed-signal technologies.
• Lay out high-speed, high-voltage, and high-power PCBs.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers on optimal component placement.
• Generate manufacturing output files, including Gerbers, bills of materials, stack-ups, and assembly documentation.
• Create libraries, including component footprints and schematic symbols.
• Work cross-functionally to ensure design requirements are met and provide board-level feedback and solutions for hardware, signal integrity, power integrity, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing issues.
• Drive projects and complete qualified designs on time.
