This is a 12+ month contract position with the option for extension, requiring 100% on-site work in Phoenix, AZ (zip code 85009). The PC LAN Technician serves as the face of the Information Technology Group (ITG), interacting daily with internal customers to resolve issues and acting as a liaison to other ADOT divisions. This role involves server and desktop support, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, implementing solutions, and assisting with warranty and non-warranty repairs. The technician will also teach customers how to use PC-related software and hardware, implement software patches and security fixes, and test system configurations. Installation and configuration of PC hardware, software, and peripherals, as well as assistance with major hardware and software deployments, are key responsibilities. The role includes monitoring system reliability, attending staff meetings, completing mandatory training, and traveling between sites. Preventive maintenance on client and server platforms is also required. New staff members will be trained on troubleshooting, setup, and installation of network-related hardware and software. This position requires extensive daily travel within the Phoenix Metro area using an ADOT vehicle, and infrequently, volunteer travel with possible overnight stays within AZ may be offered. Candidates must pass a strict background check and become ACJIS-certified. The resource will be working in a professional environment and will be held to a dress code standard.
