Under general supervision of the Director, the Communications Operator controls the telephone communications console, answers and routes calls to the appropriate personnel. This role is responsible for managing telephone communications, connecting callers, paging individuals, implementing emergency procedures, maintaining patient lists, assisting visitors, processing payments, performing after-hours answering services, and various clerical functions. The position requires interaction with hospital staff, medical staff, patients, and visitors as part of an interdisciplinary team.
