About The Position

Surge Staffing is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Payroll Support Specialist to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in supporting branch offices with payroll processing, Time & Labor system assistance, and payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys helping others, solving problems, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires someone who can effectively manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and remain calm under pressure while ensuring accurate and timely payroll support.

  • Experience working with payroll, HRIS, or Time & Labor systems.
  • Experience providing training or support to remote teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist branch offices with entering and processing payroll accurately and efficiently.
  • Support branches with payroll-related questions, issues, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of payroll concerns.
  • Train branch personnel on resolving temporary employee payroll issues.
  • Serve as a primary support resource for the Time & Labor platform across all branch locations.
  • Guide users through system processes and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot system-related issues and escalate when necessary.
  • Update employee information within company systems, including: Direct deposit enrollment and changes, Wage garnishments, Employment verifications, Other payroll-related updates.
  • Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of employee records and payroll information.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to branch teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Use sound judgment and discretion to resolve payroll issues efficiently.
  • Build positive relationships through effective communication, active listening, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to go above and beyond to support branch operations.
