About The Position

The Reyes Family of Businesses is seeking a Payroll Specialist with Canadian payroll experience to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing in compliance with government regulations. This role involves managing multiple payrolls, understanding cross-Canada payroll legislation, and collaborating with HRIS for system integrity. The specialist will also train team members and oversee various payroll adjustments and accounting functions.

Requirements

High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED)
0 to 1 plus years of specific experience in payroll
Knowledge and an understanding of cross Canada, multi-provincial payroll legislation and taxation.

Responsibilities

Ensure timely, accurate payroll processing in compliance with government regulations.
Manage and oversee the processing of multiple weekly and bi-weekly Canadian payrolls, ensuring full compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements and contractual obligations.
Guarantee the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing while strictly adhering to all relevant federal and state regulations.
Conduct thorough analysis of payroll issues, recommending and implementing corrective actions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate effectively with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to maintain system integrity and ensure compliance during payroll setup and updates.
Provide comprehensive training and mentorship to team members, facilitating local training sessions as needed to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Oversee and manage salary adjustments, deductions, bonuses, and payroll accounting, including the processing of final checks for both voluntary and involuntary employee separations.
