About The Position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for overseeing the payroll functions and processes within the AIS Infrastructure organization. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Payroll Specialist must possess a strong knowledge of payroll procedures, tax regulations, and labor laws, and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols.

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge of payroll processing and related software systems.
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and labor laws.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing payroll data.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing or related field.
  • Knowledge and ability to file certified payrolls for our projects.
  • Familiarity with payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, etc.).
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
  • Strong understanding of payroll best practices and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and related tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends or discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Customer service-oriented approach.
  • Minimal physical requirements; primarily sedentary work in an office setting.
  • Moderate mental demands, including attention to detail and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work under occasional stress or pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with heavy civil construction payroll is preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
  • Familiarity and experience with Viewpoint Vista software is a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process and review payroll data, including employee hours, benefits, and deductions.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and timely distribution of payroll payments to employees.
  • Verify payroll information for accuracy, resolve any discrepancies, and answer payroll-related inquiries.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports, tax filings, and other payroll-related documentation.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws to ensure compliance.
