About The Position

The Payroll Specialist plays a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll processing across GrandBridge Corporation. This position combines payroll expertise with accounting responsibilities, including general ledger entries, month-end accruals, and reconciliation of payroll-related accounts. The role demands a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail in handling sensitive information.

Requirements

  • National Payroll Institute certification is required.
  • At least 5 years of payroll administration experience, and current with all government and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs, especially MS Excel.
  • Effective organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and a high degree of initiative, mature judgement, and discretion, will make you an ideal candidate.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in a business, accounting, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience with Rippling and Dynamics GP is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established timelines.
  • Ensure timely and compliant completion of all payroll-related statutory filings and remittances, including CRA, WSIB, EHT, union dues, OMERS pension plan contributions, and garnishments.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including preparation and submission of T4s, T4As, OMERS Form 119, and other required filings in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing payroll-related documentation and reconciling associated general ledger accounts.
  • Provide timely support to payroll inquiries and support training on time and attendance processes for new hires.
  • Maintain documentation and continuously work towards improving payroll processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain and optimize payroll data within Rippling, actively contributing to system upgrades, enhancements, user acceptance testing, and automation initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and maintain regular (weekly, monthly, annual) and ad hoc reports for departmental and leadership needs.
