Payroll Specialist - Part-time

About The Position

This is a part-time position where the specialist will prepare, process, and reconcile biweekly payrolls for both exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness for timecards. The role involves preparing initial payroll data, reviewing timekeeping records for data integrity, and communicating with managers and supervisors. The specialist will also handle payroll inquiries, assist with reporting, and help optimize Centrus’s payroll processes for efficiency and compliance.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of payroll experience.
  • Proficiency in timekeeping and payroll systems.
  • Basic understanding of payroll compliance, wage and hour laws, and tax principles.
  • Intermediate Excel skills for reconciliation and reporting.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” Clearance (if located in Oak Ridge).
  • Must be able to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must pass vetting to ensure Centrus Energy can meet the requirements of 10 CFR Parts 810 and 1017 to grant access to export-controlled information and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information, respectively.
