About The Position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll for approximately 1500 exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws. This role involves handling garnishments, payroll adjustments, reimbursements, per diems, taxes, employee loans, commissions, and client invoicing. The specialist will ensure accurate computing and withholding of deductions, review and analyze payroll forms and reports, and serve as a liaison to resolve payroll issues and inquiries. Additionally, the role includes issuing W-2 reprints, creating payroll data reports, and performing other duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager. The position also requires supporting the company's mission, ethics, and goals, representing the company professionally, and adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years of experience with payroll/accounting functions or appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excel experience
  • Must have working knowledge of state and federal payroll tax requirements and be familiar with regulations governing taxable income and wage reporting requirements
  • Must live in Texas, Colorado, Arizona, North Carolina, Washington State or Tennessee

Responsibilities

  • Processing of daily, weekly, and biweekly payroll for approximately 1500 exempt and non-exempt employees
  • Handling garnishments, payroll adjustments, reimbursements, per diems, taxes, employee loans, commissions, and client invoicing
  • Ensuring the computing, withholding, or deductions associated with new pay is done consistent with state/federal regulations and company policies
  • Reviewing, analyzing and checking payroll forms and reports for accuracy and making necessary adjustments or corrections
  • Liaising with field, internal personnel, and interdepartmental staff to resolve payroll issues and inquiries
  • Researching, analyzing and resolving payroll-related problems or questions
  • Issuing W-2 Wage and Tax Statement reprints
  • Creating payroll data reports for management as needed
  • Performing all other duties assigned by Payroll Manager
  • Supporting and executing the mission, ethics, and goals of the company effectively
  • Representing themselves in a positive and professional manner in the company and community
  • Adhering to dress code with a clean and neat professional appearance
  • Reporting on time and as scheduled in order to complete work within the designated time
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures outlined in Employee Handbook, Employee Agreement, or communicated from executive team
