About The Position

The Payroll Specialist is a key contributor to the Finance operations team, responsible for the administration of end-to-end payroll services. This on-site role requires a professional with high accountability, advanced technical proficiency in Paycom, and a deep understanding of multi-state regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to the Director of Payroll and Benefits, the Specialist ensures operational excellence and audit-ready accuracy across all payroll functions.

Requirements

Minimum of five years of professional payroll experience, with a specific focus on high-volume, multi-state environments.
Mastery of the Paycom ecosystem is required.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas) is essential.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and integrity.
Refined written and verbal communication skills, suitable for reporting to executive leadership and supporting a diverse workforce.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is preferred.
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

Oversee the timely processing of multi-state payroll, ensuring 100% accuracy in data entry, wage calculations, and tax withholdings.
Monitor and apply federal, state, and local tax regulations across all active jurisdictions.
Ensure strict adherence to FLSA standards and internal financial controls.
Collaborate with the Director to manage and audit payroll deductions for benefits, 401(k) contributions, and other voluntary withholdings.
Prepare workpapers for month-end reconciliations and annual tax filings.
Act as a point of contact for employees and management, providing resolutions to payroll, tax, and benefits-related inquiries.
