About The Position

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join its payroll team at its Columbus, Ohio location. The role is responsible for accurately processing payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing employees with support regarding pay-related questions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of payroll processing experience.
• Working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, including FLSA, state taxes, and garnishments.
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now or Lyric.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting multi-state payroll.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly or semimonthly payroll for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees.
• Maintain and audit employee payroll records for accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with payroll laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Process new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and garnishments.
• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams as needed.
• Assist with year-end activities, including W-2 processing.
