About The Position

Supervise and co-ordinate activities of payroll staff Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. (8,000 employees) Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements Prepare, review and maintain accurate payroll general ledger account reconciliations Review and improve payroll policies and procedures Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements Support all internal and external audits related to payroll Oversee process of weekly payroll for executives and office staff Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production Manage and develop payroll staff Familiar with Microsoft Great Plains, Greenshades, Word, and Excel Able to work in a team environment Able to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner Able to communicate clearly and succinctly to other members of the finance/accounting department, as well as members of the wider Jack’s management team Self-starter, able to identify areas for improvement and act on those improvements, as well as take on additional responsibilities in the future Organized Able to learn quickly and able to cross-train others on the payroll team Personal attributes that support your success The Payroll Manager should ideally possess the following attributes: You are results oriented and exercise sound judgment in your work You are dedicated to achieving excellence and work with others to tackle the tasks at hand Have strong mathematical, accounting, and analytical skills You are helpful, a team player, and show respect while collaborating with others A lifelong learner, who is inquisitive and solves problems with strategic thinking and innovation Excellent organizational, problem solving, written and oral communication and interpersonal skills Exceptional communication skills Excellent project management skills
