Payroll Manager

About The Position

This role involves managing and processing payroll for both hourly and salaried employees, including specialized handling of driver payroll and independent contractor payments for owner-operators. The Payroll Manager will also be responsible for mentoring payroll staff, collaborating with HR on employee lifecycle events, ensuring legal compliance, managing payroll systems, and reconciling payroll data. Additionally, the role includes addressing employee inquiries, resolving discrepancies, and identifying areas for process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations

  • Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and support month-end close
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and reporting
