About The Position

A specialist Payroll & HR Solutions provider is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & HR Systems Support Consultant to join their team. The role focuses on payroll systems implementation support, data management, and payroll processing assistance within a structured, deadline-driven environment. This is a highly data-driven role requiring strong Excel capability, accuracy, and the ability to work with payroll and HR system processes. This is a technical, systems and data-focused role and not a general HR administration position. Candidates with strong Excel ability, attention to detail, and an interest in payroll systems and structured data work will thrive in this environment.

Requirements

  • Matric plus relevant qualification in HR / Payroll / Business Administration / Information Systems
  • Strong Excel skills (essential)
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
  • Analytical and logical thinking ability
  • Ability to work with structured systems and large datasets
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a structured environment

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to payroll systems such as Sage 300 People, SPA, or SBCPP
  • Payroll administration or payroll support experience
  • Experience in system implementation or data migration
  • Exposure to statutory reporting (WSP/ATR, Employment Equity)
  • Project coordination experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and format data import sheets for payroll and HR systems (e.g. Sage 300 People, SPA, SBCPP)
  • Support payroll processing and outsourcing operations through data preparation and validation
  • Assist with system implementation and data migration projects
  • Clean, validate, and reconcile payroll and employee data
  • Assist with system testing, setup, and troubleshooting of data issues
  • Work extensively in Excel for data preparation, cleaning, and reporting
  • Maintain structured import templates and datasets
  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies prior to uploads
  • Ensure accuracy across multiple payroll datasets
  • Assist with statutory reporting (Skills Development and Employment Equity)
  • Maintain compliance trackers and documentation
  • Support project administration and client data follow-ups
