About The Position

Zachry Group is seeking a Payroll Clerk to work at their Maintenance Site Cheniere Sabine Pass LNG located in Cameron, LA. This role will assist in the processing of weekly payroll in conformance with established payroll and timekeeping procedures. Responsibilities include auditing and entering timesheets, auditing gate scans, managing tax deductions, vacations, time off, wage garnishment requests, direct deposit setup, and rate and craft changes. No per diem is offered. A current TWIC card and driver's license are required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of clerical experience is required
  • Must have a strong focus on customer service, accuracy, good verbal and written communication, mathematical reasoning
  • Excellent work ethic and organizational skills & attendance
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on most projects or tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong proof-reading skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with shifting priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
  • Personal computer proficiency, experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; candidates may be tested for computer proficiency & timekeeper proficiency
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license & TWIC Card
  • Have reliable transportation and be able to work 5+ days a week or as needed
  • Must be able to meet all physical demands and pre-employment conditions, to include a criminal background check, motor vehicle check and drug screen.

  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Experience working as field timekeeper, payroll systems, refinery or other plant experience

  • Formal/Technical education.
  • Knowledge of US Payroll fundamentals
  • 10 key adding calculator

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete payroll process for business unit, entity or unassigned field payrolls and performs mathematical calculations for withholdings and deductions, vacation, sick leave, retroactive pay, overtime, salary changes, etc.
  • Perform payroll audits, entry & edits to process & release timecards to payroll system before deadlines
  • Administer and maintain employee payroll records: direct deposits, W-4, and state W-4 equivalent
  • Complete wage statements for employment commission(s), workers compensation insurance companies and other local, state and federal government agencies
  • Verifies and processes vacation requests for employees
  • Audit payroll transaction, hire and termination forms to assure compliance with Company, state and federal requirements
  • Process employee hires, termination forms, personnel updates, corrections and special payments
  • Researches employee wage information
  • Monitors employee account balances‎ (Vacation, Sick, Etc)
  • Organizes and maintains files of records and correspondence of both a routine and confidential nature
  • Assisting other needs & requests with day to day when payroll duties are done.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist with Annual events such as United Way Campaign, Site Safety Day, Site Cook Offs, etc.
  • Daily Headcount reports, subcontractor hourly reporting, etc.
