This role is responsible for accurately processing payroll and maintaining employee payroll records while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour laws, and payroll tax regulations.
  • Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Submit project-specific weekly certified payroll as needed.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly union fringe benefit and tax reporting.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with payroll tax reporting, W-2 preparation, and year-end payroll activities.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end accounting functions.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
  • Assist with audits and provide payroll documentation as requested.
