About The Position

Apple Valley Waste / Patriot Disposal is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to support payroll administration, employee benefits programs, and payroll-related compliance activities across multiple operating companies. This position serves as a key liaison between Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Accounting, and employees to ensure accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, invoice reconciliations, and employee support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of payroll, benefits administration, accounting, HR administration, or related experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Experience with benefits administration and invoice reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations and employee benefits programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support weekly payroll processing activities and payroll audits.
  • Review payroll reports and employee data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
  • Maintain employee payroll records within ADP Workforce Now and related systems.
  • Assist with payroll reporting and compliance activities.
  • Support year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and payroll audits.
  • Assist with payroll tax reporting and payroll record maintenance.
  • Administer employee benefit enrollments, changes, qualifying life events, and terminations.
  • Coordinate payroll deductions and benefit elections.
  • Assist employees with benefit-related questions and enrollment support.
  • Support annual open enrollment activities and employee communications.
  • Coordinate with benefit carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators.
  • Assist with COBRA administration and ACA reporting activities.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefit plans.
  • Perform benefit billing reconciliations for multiple benefit programs.
  • Audit payroll deductions and benefit elections for accuracy.
  • Prepare payroll, benefits, and workforce reports as requested.
  • Support payroll and benefits audits.
  • Maintain confidential employee records and documentation.
  • Support Human Resources and Accounting projects as assigned.
  • Assist with process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
