About The Position

Vimly Benefit Solutions is seeking a passionate, team-oriented Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join their team. This full-time, non-exempt, remote role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, benefits administration, and HRIS setup. The ideal candidate is a payroll professional with strong finance skills and experience supporting HR functions, who can manage multi-state payroll with precision and compliance. This role requires a self-directed individual who can meet strict deadlines and contribute meaningfully to people operations.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of hands-on, end-to-end U.S. multi-state payroll processing experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state payroll tax regulations (withholding, wage and hour laws, state-specific requirements).
  • Experience preparing payroll journal entries and reconciling payroll to general ledger accounts.
  • Advanced Excel skills (building reconciliations, VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, data cleaning).
  • Proven track record of meeting strict, non-negotiable deadlines in a self-directed environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience administering employee benefits (health insurance, 401(k), qualifying life events, open enrollment).
  • Experience supporting payroll for international employees through an Employer of Record (EOR), specifically Canada and India.
  • Familiarity with UKG or BambooHR HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Payroll, Finance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Own payroll end-to-end for all U.S. employees across multiple states, ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the Employer of Record (EOR) to ensure accurate and on-schedule payroll processing.
  • Handle benefits administration, including enrollments, qualifying life events, premium reconciliations, and vendor communications.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and benefits accurately, promptly, and with discretion.
  • Manage new hire onboarding setup in the HRIS, including creating records, assigning pay groups, and confirming benefit enrollments.
  • Partner with HR to ensure a seamless transition from offer acceptance to the first paycheck.
  • Pull headcount and workforce cost reports for HR and Finance planning.
  • Understand stakeholder needs for reporting and provide relevant data.
  • Act as a reliable partner for HR on people-related projects, leveraging data and systems knowledge.
  • Support broader people operations with financial and systems knowledge as the role evolves.
