About The Position

Performs payroll processing and agency benefits management for CSI. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate payroll distribution and effective management of employee benefits, requiring strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The position involves direct interaction with employees, supervisors, and benefit providers, as well as supporting various HR and finance functions.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, etc. from two-year college or technical school or equivalent experience and education.
  • A minimum of three-years’ related experience in a Payroll and Benefits Management environment.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics, accounting practices and internal controls.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the daily use of Excel, Outlook, Word, and automated accounting software packages.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and dependable follow-through.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports, and correspondence.

  • Ability to work timely and accurately with large amounts of data and a variety of responsibilities.
  • Ability to consistently apply policies and procedures under varying situations.

  • Own transportation that meets agency vehicle inspection requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license with no more than 3 points.
  • Proof of insurance that meets agency requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Dynamics Business Central/GreatPlains accounting software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary person of responsibility for bi-weekly payroll processing and ensuring employee benefit enrollments are reconciled with benefit providers.
  • Prepare and post general ledger entries related to payroll processing.
  • Act as the staff point of contact for all payroll and benefits management related questions, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
  • Participate in regular training sessions with new hires and supervisors on payroll and benefits related items.
  • Work with all program directors and supervisors to ensure employee time sheets are updated on a timely basis.
  • Review and process for payment all benefit invoices, reconciling them against the HRIS software.
  • Regularly audit employee benefit and accrual balances for accuracy.
  • Support the CFO and HR Director in reviewing and updating payroll and benefit processes across the agency.
  • Support the HR department in various employee onboarding and termination processes.
  • Support the accounts payable functions of the finance department.
  • Provide technical support for employees needing assistance with benefit setup.
  • Assist auditors with questions pertaining to specific areas of responsibility.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Complete training necessary to perform position and necessary for professional growth.
  • Facilitate a team atmosphere by working in partnership with other agency staff and promotes a positive working environment.
  • Represent the agency and programs in a positive manner to clients, community organizations and the public, in general.
