About The Position

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Total Rewards NA, the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits administration for all Cam Tran employees. This position is a key resource for employees regarding payroll, benefits, and the Cam Tran RRSP program, as well as contributing to the Human Resources functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Payroll, Accounting, Human Resources or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll and/or benefits administration.
  • Experience with multi-provincial payroll and statutory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems, and experience with UKG considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Excel(including vlookups, pivot tables)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lead or support team initiatives
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and adjust priorities as needed
  • Commitment to completing work safely, efficiently, and accurately

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting payroll and benefits in both Canada and the United States, or working in a North American (cross-border) HR or payroll environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in Canada. Ensuring the accurate calculation of wages, overtime, premiums, statutory holidays and deductions aligning with all provincial legislation.
  • Prepare and submit ROE’s, year-end processing including T4s, and other payroll reports as required.
  • Manage payroll-related inquiries from employees, leaders and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including employee documents and reports.
  • Verify payroll changes for new hires, terminations, position and pay changes, and leaves as required to make sure payroll is processed accurately.
  • Administer the group benefits plan and group RRSP/DPSP plan by managing employee enrollments, terminations and life event changes.
  • Act as liaison between employees and benefits carriers when issues arise during the administration of benefits
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment standards.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in UKG and other payroll data.
  • Collaborate with team members to support additional payroll and HR activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
