PAYROLL & ACCOUNTING ADMIN

P4 AutomotiveIndianapolis, IN
$50,000 - $70,000Onsite

About The Position

Leo Auto Group is hiring a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing across our nine-dealership automotive group in Indiana. You'll be responsible for accurate, on-time payroll for several hundred employees across multiple locations, each with different pay structures including hourly, salary, commission, and blended compensation plans. This role sits within our corporate office and reports into the accounting team. You'll work in ADP Workforce Now daily, coordinate with store-level managers on timekeeping, and ensure compliance across all federal, state, and local payroll requirements. Automotive dealership payroll has more moving parts than most industries — variable commission structures, chargebacks, spiffs, and flat-rate technician pay — so the ability to learn quickly and ask the right questions matters as much as experience.

Requirements

  • Experience processing payroll, preferably for 100+ employees
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now (strongly preferred) or comparable payroll platform
  • Solid working knowledge of payroll tax requirements and labor regulations
  • Advanced Excel skills — you're comfortable with lookups, pivot tables, and reconciliation
  • High accuracy and attention to detail under deadline pressure
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication skills — you'll interact with managers and employees at every level

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)

  • Maintain employee payroll records with strict confidentiality
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve issues promptly
  • Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation
  • Coordinate with HR on new hires, terminations, and status changes
  • Stay current on payroll regulations and ensure ongoing compliance

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
