As a Payments Specialist II-Physical at our Melbourne/Baytree Headquarters, you will responsible for ensuring that all member payments—including checks received through lockbox, mail, ATM, and mobile deposit—are processed accurately, timely, and in full compliance with procedural and regulatory standards. Operating under direct supervision, the position requires strong analytical and research skills to resolve issues and determine appropriate solutions. The role carries nominal budgetary impact and builds on the core duties of a Payment Processing Specialist I with expanded responsibility for additional payment channels. SCCU offers a hybrid and flexible schedule options, with 2 days per week required in office. We prioritize internal promotions and offer on-the-job training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
  • 1 to 3 years prior experience with a financial institution required
  • Experience in Item Processing, ATM or Mobile Deposit Processing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and processes all ATM deposits daily.
  • Verifies that all ATM deposits received are valid and balanced with accounting.
  • Reviews and processes all Mobile deposits daily.
  • Verifies that all Mobile deposits received are valid and balanced with accounting
  • Processes ATM and Mobile Check deposit adjustments to member accounts.
  • Process Credit Unions Check Inclearing files throughout the day
  • Research and responds to member and team member inquiries/requests received through multiple channels for check deposits and loan payments
  • Research and resolves outstanding transactions including requests from external financial institutions related to adjustments and/or source of receipts for member transactions.
  • Reviews Breach of Warranties, Hold Harmless, Stop Payments and decisions processing within regulations.
  • Provides Quality Control Reviews of Check channel GL reconcilements for potential risks and adherence to regulatory compliance.
  • Assists in onboarding and training of new Team Members.
  • Responsible for conducting OFAC reviews and determining the need for further review with BSA.
  • Reviews of all checks for fraudulent activity and reports activity to Fraud Management
  • Ensure compliance with credit union policies and procedures, Federal Reserve Operating Circular 3 and ATM network rules
  • Remains knowledgeable and current in all aspects of Regulation CC, Regulation D, Regulation E, Bank Secrecy Act, Money Laundering and OFAC compliance.
  • Additional training and certifications will be completed as required.
