About The Position

The Medical Payment Poster processes payments in the department and identifies trends and patterns in insurance payments, contacting insurance companies to resolve issues. The position is full-time and onsite at 12770 Merit Dr., Suite 800, Dallas, TX 75251. The schedule is an eight-hour shift, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required as needed. Requirements

High school diploma.
One year of dental office experience.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
Detail-oriented, with organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Computer literacy.
Professional phone skills.
Ability to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

Two years of payment posting and accounts receivable experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Post all manual and electronic payments to patient accounts.
Reconcile accounts to the general ledger and perform other month-end procedures.
Identify patterns of overpayments and bring them to the attention of appropriate supervisory personnel.
Identify billing errors, inaccurate payments, and posting errors, and resolve them as appropriate.
Review insurance remittance advices for accuracy.
Meet all monthly, weekly, and daily deadlines in the cash applications process.
Research unidentified payments and/or recoupments to determine appropriate resolution.
Notify appropriate personnel of trends or problems with specific payers.
Identify and coordinate remittance issues with accounts receivable departmental staff.
