About The Position

The Payment Posting Specialist works in a team-based environment and is responsible for accurately posting and reconciling payments received from patients, payers, and third parties in a timely manner. The role maintains relationships with Vital Care franchises, coordinates with internal departments and payers, and supports payment workflows and related applications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent listening, speaking, comprehension, and writing skills.
• Understanding of processes, systems, and techniques for successfully posting insurance explanations of benefits.
• Ability to identify gaps and problems from documentation review, determine lasting solutions, make effective decisions, and take corrective action.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to track and maintain clear, complete records of activities, cases, and related documentation.
• Knowledge and skill in using the MS Office suite and pharmacy applications.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of insurance posting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive ongoing relationships with franchises through regular email or phone contact.
• Work independently, prioritize tasks, and align work with Vital Care goals.
• Work as a committed team player and display Vital Care's core values.
• Obtain remittance notifications from internal applications and external sources to post payments to patient accounts promptly.
• Complete reconciliation in accordance with company policies.
• Communicate with other Vital Care departments about payer issues or concerns.
• Assist Information Technology with implementing internal applications to support the posting department.
• Work with payers and Revenue Cycle team members to track payer recoupments through refunds or offsets.
• Coordinate with the team to ensure payments are posted to patient accounts in a timely manner.
• Scan checks into bank software for daily deposits.
• Analyze explanations of benefits to ensure adjustments and transfers are applied appropriately.
• Process and post credit card payments.
• Index payments to the daily posting workflow.
• Perform additional duties of similar complexity as assigned by Vital Care Leadership.
